Community Development
Marwest was founded in 1970. Marwest provides a complete range of services in construction and maintenance of natural gas utilities; pipeline integrity services, pipeline maintenance and installation, reclamation, ROW clearing and access services.
Marwest, like parent company ROGA, is a 100% Indigenous-owned company. As a leader in First Nations reconciliation, Marwest fosters valuable community relationships, career development, and capacity-building, positioning itself as a prominent player in British Columbia's natural resources sector, offering clients and stakeholders a competitive edge through comprehensive in-house capabilities and business practices.
Reflecting on our journey to become the company we are today, we acknowledge that growth and success has been a shared journey. Our uniquely collaborative partnership model with Indigenous communities creates stronger communities and stronger companies. We are consistently building public trust with Indigenous partners by building shared equity and achieving shared value.
As an Indigenous-owned company, Marwest has a strong Indigenous & Local Procurement policy. Investment into communities brings good, well-paying jobs, and directly supports Indigenous community members and their families by providing opportunities close to home. This allows the community to be a part of protecting our natural ecosystems, improving the respect and well-being of people, and giving a say in the management of their own resources and local economy.
